Mold is not only ugly and unsightly when seen, it can also adversely effect the air quality in your home. Air quality and the health of you and your family go hand-in-hand. The mayo clinic reports that there are over 150 different mold spores that can be the cause of problems as simple constant throat tickle, sniffles, or, go as far as asthma and pneumonia.
Mold, in a house, is most often found on walls, floors, ceilings, counter tops, and carpets exposed to moisture. These microscopic spores can be hidden inside a wall, behind a tub surround, even under a kitchen sink. One particularly troublesome hiding place is inside the duct work and associated components of central forced-air heating and air-conditioning systems.
Mold needs moisture, oxygen, a food source and a surface. A mold spore in search of a home can come by those essentials relatively easily. If you don't see the mold itself, but suspect a problem, inspect the insulation in the walls, ceilings, and baseboards. This is where mold creates its ideal incubator. Determining that mold exists in interior wall cavities, however, requires more work. As does the testing of the air quality in your home for your families safety.
Under the new rules, a property must be inspected by a licensed Mold Assessment Consultant who will perform a visual inspection and take samples for testing by a state licensed laboratory. IF a mold-related hazard is identified, the Mold Assessment Consultant will prepare a Mold Remediation Protocol that will executed by a licensed Mold Remediation Company. After the Mold Remediation Protocol has been completed, the property will be re-inspected by the Mold Assessment Consultant to insure that the mold problem has been corrected.
We serve the entire Dallas - Fort Worth metroplex.
Recent news stories have linked the so-called "Black Mold" to multiple air quality problems popularly known as "Sick Building Syndrome".
The truth is, mold spores can grow anywhere they find suitable levels of food, moisture, and heat. Mold and mildew can cause odors and aggravate breathing problems such as allergies and asthma. In very rare cases some individuals have reported more severe symptoms allegedly caused by Black Mold contamination.
If you experience unusual odors or suspect that you may have a mold, mildew, or fungus problem, our mold professionals will tell you one way or the other. Our test results can be ready in 24 hours.
